Principality of Donboli
[edit]Anyone with knowledge on this subject should check and see if Khoy Khanate and Principality of Donboli are two names for the same entity. Same city/region in the same period, but the rulers seem to be different. --Semsûrî (talk) 16:30, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
Donboli pdf
[edit]I was editing the Khoy Khanate wikipedia page but got my edit removed because the source I used was apparantly from a predatory publisher. I think there should be an exception for this source though because the information in there matches up with other sources. For example:
Other sources, including John Perry(his first book on karim khan zand, not the shortened second one), mention a rebellion by the khans of Khoy around 1743.
There is disputing info for the dates during the Zand period but it always comes back to 1763 or 1769. The 1799 campaign to Khoy is correlated by many sources, including pages 51-52 of A Social and Economic History of the Elites of Tabriz, 1747-1848, pages 21-22 of From the Kur to the Aras: A Military History of Russia's Move into the Caucasus..., The Dynasty of the Kajars, etc. There are more examples I could give displaying the accuracy of the source. Even though this is from a predatory publisher, I believe it still can be used since the information in the text is in fact verifiable. Kailanmapper (talk) 13:27, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Its better to try to find the same info somewhere else than adding a self-published article. If the Khanate was disestablished in 1799, it likely means that Khoy Khanate and Principality of Donboli are the same entity, so 1) they should be merged and 2) the Başçı reference used in that article maybe has some of the info you are looking for.
- Also can you add the page for the 'An Iranian Town in Transition' reference?--Semsûrî (talk) 09:54, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Ok then, which one should merge? Should Khoy Khanate or Principality of Donboli be turned into a redirect? Kailanmapper (talk) 18:32, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- I would merge the info and redirect the Principality of Donboli to Khoy Khanate and maybe add in the intro that the entity is also known as the 'principality of Donboli' --Semsûrî (talk) 19:01, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Shahbaz
[edit]Shahbaz is correct. Sahbaz isn't correct because the first letter is the Turkish 'sh' which is an S with a sign below it. Aminabzz (talk) 14:48, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
